My Goals for Agility

I actually have goals for Bindi in Agility. She and I have been on the slow boat ride of Agility training. I have to learn to run a very fast dog and Bindi needs to learn to keep her head about her, or as I always put it, "use your noodle". So here are the Goals that Bindi and I need to achieve to start trialing in December (2018).

For Bindi:
1. By end of Summer have a two on two off, on all contacts
2. By end of Summer have 12 weave poles
3. By end of Summer have a good sit stay or Start Line
4. Ongoing - Forward focus work

Our status:

1. Contacts - We have a two on two off on all contacts (start of Summer). Now it the goal needs to be changed to "By end of Summer proofed contacts"

2. We have twelve weave pools and they are almost proofed. New goal - end of summer have proofed weave pole entries.

3. Sit Stays - Ugh! Will continue to work on. This is a real challenging one because Bindi performs this well at home, but the minute we get to class, she looses her noodle.

For Diane
1. By end of Summer loose 20lbs
2. By end of Summer work on core strength and arm strength

My status:
Just starting - meh! I have a good sit stay however.

Bindi and I have been taking Summer workshops and within a few weeks, since we are going every day, she has improved immensely. These workshops have made the difference in accomplishing our goals at least two months earlier that expected. We have access to a huge field and all of the equipment. It is a hardship money wise and time wise (I am always at agility), but the payoff is huge. For the next four more weeks, I predict so much more progress to be made with Bindi and I. It really makes my goal of December look attainable. God Bless Kama and Jubie!
